Breath is Encouragement
This is a story from one of my sessions with a great client, whom shares that he finds benefit in our work together in the form of encouragement.
I quickly recognized that:
1. Yes I aim to provide encouragement in sessions;
2. The act of showing up in the first point is a form of self-encouragement;
3. Every conscious breath we take is an act of self-encouragement.
Since our work together is Mind/Body & Breathwork, I curate our session into breathing into this powerful, self-fulfilling, self-encouraging focal point
When you choose to breathe, you are choosing to give yourself life.
When you choose to breathe, you are choosing to give yourself love.
When you choose to breathe, you are choosing to give yourself health.
When you choose to breathe, you are choosing to give yourself encouragement.
His request was encouragement from me. Which I can totally do. But another focus of my work is that of self-efficacy, or the ability for an individual to accomplish a task for self.
I will always create encouraging environments, but recognize the importance of creating encouragement within self.
What better way to encourage thyself, than to focus on each breath, filling the lungs, lifting the heart, exhaling connection to core, connection to purpose. Sprinkle in the philosophy of encouragement, and voila!
I invite you to create space to drop in to your breath.
I invite you to sit up tall in your seat.
I invite you to deepen your inhale.
I invite you to extend your exhale.
I invite you to recognize the reality that is self-encouragement in each breath.
My client said "even if one person is positively impacted by this share, I will be happy".
Hopefully it impacts all of you.
